  Customer service is fantastic! I submitted an order for one board bag but then decided I’d like to order two. The customer service team and supplier were very responsive and helped me submit an order for the second board bag without having to pay twice for shipping. I’m super happy 😊

  Hey Martin, Our apologies for the delayed reply, as it was overlooked during the Christmas period. We had responded to your email, but a few weeks into the new year. Sorry to hear that you got the wrong colour board. We later received a note from the retailers that it was the last 88 board they had in stock. They don’t have any more until July this year and can’t guarantee any colours.   What a great concept, idea and company! Was straight forward to choose the product I wanted, at a great price too! Shipping was quick and having a tracking number meant I could keep a close eye on where it was - arrived just in time for the weekend! Packaging was good, provided the board we a heap of protection during transit.

  I had seen a handful of negative reviews which made me question if I should buy from here but more than satisfied with the service. Board arrived to me in south Australia within a week and considering current freight times I was very happy. I have been surfing for 20 years and was looking for an affordable summer longboard and after 1 ride the board feels like exactly what I was after.

  The website is great, easy to navigate, well laid out. My order had FREE postage which is amazing in itself..but not only that, as i was moving house, i selected 'standard post' which with anything else i order online, usually involves a 2-4 week wait for delivery, however you guys had my brand new board to me within 3 business days! superbly packaged, no chance of damage, just awesome all round. The fact that you guys make payment easy too, with pay later options, is awesome, you guys are leagues ahead of any other online surfboard retailer.

  I bought a used board and it was exactly as described. The shipping was fast and the board was so safely packaged. The instructions were clear on what to do before signing for the board when it was delivered. I had questions after I placed my order and was easily able to contact the team at Akewatu who were very friendly and helpful. After the phone call, they also sent a follow up email to confirm what we had spoken about. Oh, and the board is absolutely amazing! So stoked.

  I arrive at customs Perth on my way to Bali only to be embarrassed when I produced my invoice to claim my Departure Tax on a $1200 purchase. Without an ABN I was unable to claim. I purchased a board in Australia and it was delivered from Manly. Any reason I did not receive a Tax Invoice I have left messages and no one has replied. Sounds shonky to me. Please reply or I will ask ATO For advice

  Hi Ben, You have ordered on the 27th of February 2022, paid for standard shipping, and the board got delivered on the 10th of March, so in 9 business days, and within our 15 business days policy for standard shipping. We received your emailed to support@akewatu.com on the 14th of March to say that the board was faulty and that it didn't support weight in water, and asked if we were accepting returns. The board was probably not faulty but maybe not the right board for you? We replied to you the same day and tried to understand the issue to find a solution. We asked if you could provide pictures if there were damages, but we never heard back. The issue you are having isn't related to Akewatu's customer service nor services provided. We are still happy to help, and always doing our best so our customers have the best experience possible. Kind regards Akewatu team

  In my entire 'online shopping' experience, this has been the BEST customer service I've ever had. Then, in the face of huge delivery delays, they made some calls to get the board to me in a couple of days. I was blown away... So 5 stars from me.

  It's a great idea to have a site linked to lots of independent surf shops. Gives the consumer access to a huge range of products, and helps keep local businesses thriving. Good communication from your rep and quick delivery of purchases from the shop.

  Hi there, Apologies for the inconvenience but as we have discussed back and forth in our previous emails, the board was initially unavailable and the seller had to order one in. You have agreed to wait for the board to be back in stock before it can be shipped. The board arrived in store two weeks later on the 18th of January and is still shipping on its way to Torquay. The leash has been delivered on January 26th. We have also refunded you the entire shipping costs of $39 due to delay and for your convenience. TNT is currently experiencing a large number of delays due to covid around VIC area as they are having a shortage of drivers to pick up the packages from the depots. We are doing our best to manages all the orders with the best service as possible. Kind regards, Akewatu team

  I have reached out to Akewatu more than once about the damage to more board that l ordered online. The board had to be damaged before being packed as the package was not damaged at all. l am still waiting to hear back from Akewatu. Very disappointed.

  After the initial seller couldn't deliver the product, the team at akewatu made quick work sourcing another seller who had the same item for sale. They were efficient and gave great customer service.

  Akewatu was great and the service was really good, especially when talking over the phone and via email. However, my surfboard was meant to come with fins but didn’t. This is no big drama, as I emailed back and the fins are being shipped.
