  Having purchased a board from another shocker online company in May 2020 and being stalled twice until delivery 14 weeks later, with hollow claims of great customer service and a voucher for *$20 off (with another order over $80 from their site), AKEWATU were fantastic. I found the board I wanted, and it was delivered 3 days later. Customer service called me up the next business day, after placing the order on a Sunday, to check and finalise fin specs following my stuff up. They were friendly and sorted out my order. Definitely recommend and will use again.

  Would not use again. Board had more compressions than expected and a repaired ding that was not disclosed. But what I am most disappointed with is that I got an international charge on my credit card for $15!!! The board was on the Gold Coast but obviously the company running the website is based overseas. That really sucks.

  Board was damaged when received. Took a long time to get hold of anybody to discuss and got fobbed off over a number of weeks. Eventually managed to send board back and had money refunded (was out of pocket $1,000 for 2 months by time of refund). While Akewatu eventually did the right thing and gave money back, it felt like a battle and was far from an enjoyable experience. I'll buy at my local surf shop next time and save myself the arguments

  Softboard arrived without FCS finboxes as advertised and also came with futures fins but no fin boxes. I contacted Akewatu to send me the correct softboard fins that would fit the board but they still haven't and it has been 39 days and I am still waiting. :(

  Hi, Our team at Akewatu ensure that the issue concerning the set of fins is in respect of the seller forgetting to add the fins to the order. Once notified, they quickly sent you a replacement set of fins which unfortunately were lost through Australia Post. Customer care at Akewatu contacted the seller to send a second set of fins through Express shipping. We hope that this arrives on time so you can take your board out for a surf ASAP.   We are in WA and had trouble getting hold of a particular board. We used Akewatu and were really happy with the whole process. The board was well packed for the delivery and we were kept up to date with the tracking of it.. Great price, great service, first time using Akewatu and would highly recommend. I’ve ordered lots of boards to Tasmania over the past 35 years and almost all have been damaged so I’m pretty stoked these arrived in perfect condition . The staff were really good as well when I had a problem checking out . I definitely recommend Akewatu

  The order arrived on time and in perfect condition. The honeycomb protection used was innovative but easy to unpack. I purchased a 7'6" hybrid and I am very pleased with the glass work and the shape. Now need to sort the fins ,as I'm used to a short board. All good and recommend Akewatu.👍👍☺

  Akewatu was admittedly stumbled upon in my search for a specific board, which was a present for my boyfriend's birthday. In saying this, the experience was great! Super fast communication when I made an enquiry and the process of picking up the board was also super simple and quick! Now that I know a bit more about Akewatu, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone as it opens up more possibilities than shopping at a single store.

  Received the board unfortunately it was damaged by the courier but to Akewatu's credit they found another and replaced the damaged board. I would have rated 4 starts if this didnt happen but it took approx. 4 weeks from my original order to finally get the board.

  Hi, We sincerely apologies for the confusion and frustration that this may have caused. It's unfair to any customer to not receive further reassurance about why an order was cancelled. In some cases, when a board is purchased on the Akewatu website, the shop it is located at may have not recently updated their stock, and it is likely that the board was sold in store or online to another customer. The staff you spoke to that day may have been making a light hearted remark with no ill intention. You had been contacted via email by the Akewatu Customer Care team on the day you made the purchase advising that the board was available, but in a different board shop. This was on the 8th of June. The board was delivered to you that same week on the 12th of June. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Thanks for letting us know.   There are parts to the process that were concerning. My receipt was a 5 page document with pretty pictures of people with very limited information. It should be 1 page with how much I paid in Australian Dollars; who I bought it from; where they are located; addresses; phone numbers: dates etc. When you spend a lot of money online customers don't want fancy pictures they wants simple to read honest facts on one page that is easy to print or at least screen-shot for future evidence. These facts should be clearly visible on each page of the process. The only reason I trusted the website was that I knew this was my local surf shop. Otherwise I would have never used it as it looked professional but the purchasing process was very unfriendly in French with Euros written etc. This is very unprofessional for web design in this day and age. Happy with the product as I knew where it was coming from. Happy with the surfboard search engine but the purchasing process was terrible missing vital data all the way being supplemented by pictures that do nothing to make an online customer feel confident this web site is legitimate..

  Skye was very easy to use and I used the board calculator which helped with my board choice. There was a promotion and delivery was free which is amazing since I live in regional Western Australia most board freight is over $100. It even arrived within two weeks which is really fast for where I am.

  Overall a great experience my board was delivered to a far flung corner of Australia in 8 days (during a pandemic) excellent. I will offer some feedback though: - website is a little clunky. First time I went on it only showed me a few boards which made me think Akewatu was pretty small. - communication with the surf shop was not good, I never got any replies from them. - communication with Akewatu was great, fast response and answered my questions. - packaging was superb, I read about this prior and was very impressed with it, question is can it be sent back for reuse?? - I would definitely use Akewatu again for purchase and would consider selling through the site also Thanks again

  Delivery was quick and arrived on the day it was originally said. A few issues with the order with the delivery information inputs changing to French (?) from English. Had my order cancelled after I placed however was quickly rectified from the staff. Would use Akewatu again
